Defence Minister Rajnath Singh reaffirmed India’s stance on Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), emphasizing that Jammu and Kashmir is incomplete without it. Addressing the 9th Armed Forces Veterans’ Day at Tanda Artillery Brigade in Akhnoor, Jammu, on Tuesday, Singh condemned Pakistan’s role in fostering terrorism and reiterated that PoK belongs to India.

PoK as a Terrorist Stronghold

Singh criticized Pakistan for turning PoK into a haven for terrorism, with militant training facilities and operational bases near the Line of Control (LoC). He accused Pakistan of using PoK to promote unrest in India, stating, “Our government is aware of all such activities, and these must be dismantled.”

The Plight of PoK Residents

Focusing on the condition of PoK residents, Singh highlighted how they are denied basic rights and dignity. He pointed out Pakistan’s misuse of religion to incite anti-India sentiments among the local population. He added, “The people of PoK are being misled by their rulers, who continue to use propaganda against India.”

Singh also condemned recent statements made by PoK’s Prime Minister, calling them part of Pakistan’s long-standing strategy of spreading hostility towards India. He traced this pattern back to General Zia-ul-Haq’s era, which shaped Pakistan’s divisive and confrontational policies.

India’s Vision for PoK

Reiterating India’s claim over PoK, Singh described the region as a vital part of India’s heritage. “PoK is not just a geographical entity but a symbol of India’s cultural and historical integrity. For Pakistan, it is nothing more than foreign territory,” he remarked.

The Defence Minister’s statements underline India’s commitment to combating terrorism and restoring its territorial sovereignty. His remarks come as a strong reminder of India’s unwavering resolve to address security challenges and ensure the welfare of the region’s people.

With his address, Singh has sent a clear message to Pakistan: India will not compromise on its territorial integrity, and it will continue to uphold its vision of a peaceful and unified Jammu and Kashmir.
