On Thursday, a bill was introduced in the US House of Representatives aimed at granting Donald Trump the opportunity to serve a third term as President of the United States. The bill was put forward by Republican Congressman Andy Ogles, who argued that Trump is the leader capable of making America “great again.”

In his remarks, Ogles emphasized the need for more time for Trump to address the issues that arose during President Joe Biden’s tenure. Ogles stated that it is crucial to correct the mistakes made under Biden’s administration, and for this, Trump should be given all the necessary resources to lead the country effectively.

The bill seeks to amend the current restrictions on presidential terms by allowing an individual who has served two terms as President to be eligible for a third term. Given that Trump lost the 2020 election to Biden, this bill would make him eligible to run for president again and potentially serve another term.

Under the current U.S. Constitution, a person can only serve as president for two terms. This limitation was established by the 22nd Amendment in 1951. The amendment was introduced following Franklin D. Roosevelt’s presidency, during which he served an unprecedented four terms in office. Roosevelt remains the only president in U.S. history to have held office for more than two terms.

This move to introduce a bill to amend the Constitution reflects the ongoing debate within American politics about the future leadership and the potential for a comeback by former President Trump. If the bill is passed, it could alter the political landscape significantly and pave the way for Trump to make a return to the White House in the upcoming elections.
