The Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) has issued a strong condemnation against the increasing incidents of extrajudicial killings, torture, and harassment of Baloch youth, calling on both the Baloch community and international organizations to take immediate action against these human rights violations.

In a statement released on Tuesday, BYC highlighted the recent cases of Shukrullah and Nadeem Baloch, two residents of Panjgur’s Rakshan area in Balochistan, Pakistan, who were allegedly abducted and tortured by security forces.

Mutilation and Brutalities Against Baloch Youth

According to the BYC, on February 3, Shukrullah and Nadeem Baloch were detained by Frontier Corps (FC) personnel at the Washbood checkpoint. Their detention sparked immediate concerns, as incidents of enforced disappearances have been rampant in Balochistan.

Merely two days later, on February 5, Shukrullah’s mutilated body was discovered, while Nadeem was found critically injured in the Surab district. The brutal nature of the violence has intensified fear and anger within the Baloch community, which has long accused the state of systematic repression and human rights violations.

BYC’s Call for Justice and International Attention

In a social media post titled “Surge in Extrajudicial Killings, Torture, and Mutilation of Baloch Youth, and Harassment of Victim Families,” the BYC condemned these atrocities, stressing that the targeting of innocent Baloch civilians has become a routine practice. The organization urged the international community to hold Pakistan accountable for its actions and take urgent steps to prevent further violence against the Baloch people.

The group also criticized the harassment of families who seek justice for their loved ones. Victim families often face intimidation, surveillance, and threats, making it nearly impossible for them to raise their voices against the perpetrators.

A Pattern of State Repression in Balochistan

Balochistan, Pakistan’s largest but least developed province, has been a center of unrest for decades, with Baloch activists and human rights organizations accusing state forces of enforced disappearances, custodial torture, and extrajudicial executions.

International human rights groups have frequently raised concerns over the deteriorating situation in Balochistan, but meaningful intervention remains absent. The Pakistani government has often dismissed these allegations, labeling Baloch nationalist movements as separatist threats.

Growing Outrage and Demands for Action

The latest incident involving Shukrullah and Nadeem Baloch has reignited calls for justice and accountability. Protests have erupted in several areas of Balochistan, with activists demanding an independent investigation into the killings and disappearances of Baloch youth.

The Baloch Yakjehti Committee has vowed to continue raising awareness about state-sponsored violence in Balochistan and has called on global human rights organizations, the United Nations, and international media to highlight the crisis.

As the cycle of violence and repression continues, the Baloch people remain trapped in a state of fear and uncertainty, with no clear end in sight to their suffering. Whether the international community will respond to their pleas for justice remains to be seen.
