Dhaba Owner Shot While Resisting Robbery in Himachal’s Mandi District

Mandi, Himachal Pradesh – A shocking incident unfolded in Mandi district when a roadside eatery owner was shot at while attempting to prevent a robbery at his establishment. The attack occurred on the night of March 21-22, and the police have since launched an investigation.

Robbery Attempt Turns Violent

According to officials, the incident took place around midnight when two unidentified bikers arrived at a dhaba in Mandi and placed an order for takeaway food. While the owner, Pradeep Guleria, was busy packing their meal, he noticed the duo trying to steal cash from the counter.

Sensing the theft, Guleria confronted the suspects in an attempt to stop them. However, one of the culprits suddenly brandished a firearm and opened fire at him. Despite being shot at, Guleria survived the attack and is currently undergoing treatment.

Culprits Flee With Cash and Valuables

After the attack, the assailants not only escaped with the stolen cash but also took an LED TV from the eatery before fleeing the scene on their motorcycle. The police were immediately informed, and an FIR was registered at Police Station Sadar, Mandi.

Investigation Underway

A Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been constituted to track down the culprits. Authorities are examining CCTV footage from nearby areas and questioning potential witnesses to gather leads.

The incident has raised concerns among local business owners, with many calling for stronger security measures to prevent such crimes. Meanwhile, police have assured the public that every effort is being made to bring the offenders to justice.
