New Delhi, June 16, 2025 — In a strategic push to build a more secure digital defense environment, the Defence Cyber Agency, operating under the Headquarters Integrated Defence Staff, has launched a high-impact cybersecurity initiative titled ‘Cyber Suraksha’. This nationwide multi-phase exercise will run from June 16 to June 27, 2025.

Bringing together over 100 participants from key defence bodies and national agencies, this program aims to deepen operational capabilities in dealing with complex cyber risks. The goal is to foster better coordination, faster threat recognition, and more decisive response mechanisms.

Realistic Drills to Build Operational Expertise

‘Cyber Suraksha’ creates a controlled setting where teams are immersed in lifelike cyber incidents, enabling them to refine their tactical and strategic responses. Through this intensive setup, participants engage in identifying, managing, and neutralizing digital disruptions — all within time-sensitive and challenging scenarios.

This environment not only mirrors the pace and unpredictability of real cyber warfare but also helps participants enhance their critical thinking and team collaboration under pressure.

Leadership Meets Cyber Strategy: The CISOs Conclave

One of the highlights of this cybersecurity initiative is the Chief Information Security Officers (CISOs) Conclave, which integrates high-level policy discussions with real-world operational insights. Senior officers and cyber leaders are participating in expert-led sessions focused on cyber strategy, threat evolution, and defense mechanisms for national security infrastructure.

The conclave will culminate in a Table-Top Simulation designed to test leadership-level preparedness in navigating through large-scale cyber emergencies.

Merging Knowledge with Hands-On Training

By combining structured instruction with hands-on simulations, the exercise empowers participants to confidently manage emerging threats. The gamified challenges are designed to not only assess technical expertise but also promote a proactive mindset across ranks.

Officials from the Defence Cyber Agency confirmed that such exercises will become routine — part of a broader mission to instill a culture of cybersecurity vigilance at all levels of the defense ecosystem.

Securing India’s Digital Frontiers

As technology becomes increasingly integral to national defense, securing cyberspace is no longer optional. The launch of ‘Cyber Suraksha’ signals a strong institutional commitment toward digital safety, resilience, and long-term strategic readiness.

This exercise represents a step forward in strengthening India’s cyber infrastructure, ensuring that both frontline personnel and decision-makers are equipped to deal with any digital threat with confidence and precision.
