Netanyahu Confirms Return of Hostages’ Bodies, Vows Continued Efforts Until All Are Brought Home

Tel Aviv, June 22, 2025 – Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that the bodies of three hostages abducted and killed by Hamas during the October 2023 attacks have been recovered and returned to Israel during a recent Israel Defense Forces (IDF) operation in Gaza.
The remains identified were those of Yehonatan Samerano, Nir Luineton, and Zahra Kidar, all of whom were brutally murdered and taken captive by Hamas militants during the early stages of the conflict last year. Their return marks a solemn moment for the nation, as it mourns and honors their memory.
“I, along with all Israeli citizens, share in the deep sorrow of the families and offer them heartfelt condolences,” said Netanyahu. He emphasized that the entire nation grieves with the bereaved families and stands united in remembrance.
The Prime Minister expressed his gratitude to the soldiers and officers involved in the recovery operation, praising their bravery, resilience, and success. “Your dedication and heroism make this nation proud,” he stated.
Netanyahu also reinforced Israel’s firm commitment to continue all efforts until every hostage is brought home. He acknowledged that the military is simultaneously preparing for broader confrontations, particularly in the context of ongoing threats posed by Iran.
“We will not rest,” he declared, “until all of our captives are returned, and we restore both life and unity to our people.”
This development underscores the persistent tension in the region and Israel’s ongoing military and diplomatic operations aimed at securing the release of all individuals still held in captivity.
