Chitrakoot, Uttar Pradesh – June 23, 2025:
A deeply distressing incident emerged from Chakondh village under Karwi police station area on Sunday evening, as a young man allegedly took his own life by hanging himself in his room. The deceased has been identified as 22-year-old Ashish Mishra, son of Dayanand Mishra.

Ashish, the second of three brothers, was reportedly at home when the tragic event unfolded. According to family members, he had gone into his room earlier in the day and did not come out for several hours. Initially, his silence was thought to be due to rest or sleep. However, growing concern led the family to call out to him repeatedly.

Horrific Discovery Behind Closed Doors
When there was no response to their calls, family members forced open the door — only to be met with a chilling sight. Ashish was found hanging from the ceiling with a rope. The scene sent shockwaves through the household. His mother, Chunni Devi, collapsed in shock upon witnessing her son’s lifeless body.

Local police from Karwi station arrived shortly after being informed. The body was taken down and sent for autopsy following the completion of the inquest formalities (Panchanama).

Cause Still Unknown, Investigation Underway
At this point, the exact reason behind Ashish’s extreme step remains unclear. No suicide note was recovered from the scene. Authorities have begun an investigation to determine the circumstances that may have led to the suicide.

The sudden loss of a young life has cast a pall of grief over the village, and the incident has once again raised questions about mental health awareness and the need for timely emotional support within communities.
