Rahul Gandhi Voices Concern Over Himachal Flood Tragedy, Urges Collective Relief Action

New Delhi, June 26, 2025 – Expressing deep sorrow over the heavy devastation caused by relentless rains in Himachal Pradesh, Congress leader and Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi extended his heartfelt condolences to the affected families. Several districts of the hill state have suffered extensive damage, with lives lost and many people still missing amid the chaos.
Taking to Facebook on Thursday, Gandhi described the situation as deeply distressing and emphasized the urgent need for rescue and rehabilitation. “The reports of massive loss of lives and property due to continuous rainfall in Himachal Pradesh are extremely tragic. My thoughts are with the grieving families, and I hope those missing are found safe and reunited with their loved ones,” he stated.
In addition to offering sympathies, Rahul Gandhi called upon Congress workers to actively participate in the relief and rescue missions. He praised the efforts of government agencies and emphasized that united support from all quarters was vital during such times of crisis. “Relief teams and the administration are doing their best. I appeal to Congress workers across the region to assist in every way possible. In times of disaster, unity and compassion must guide our actions,” he added.
The severity of the situation is evident with the deployment of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) teams, particularly in Kullu, one of the worst-hit regions. Their prompt arrival highlights the scale of the disaster and the urgent need for coordinated action on the ground.
As the state battles the aftermath of nature’s fury, the focus remains on rescue efforts, medical assistance, and long-term rehabilitation. Leaders like Rahul Gandhi urging cooperation only strengthen the collective resolve to bring relief and hope to the people of Himachal Pradesh.
