Ukraine Expands Coalition of the Willing, U.S. Joins for First Time

Kyiv, Ukraine – July 10, 2025
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced a significant milestone in global support for Ukraine as the “Coalition of the Willing” welcomed representatives from the United States for the first time. In a meeting that marked a turning point in international collaboration, high-profile American participants such as General Keith Kellogg and U.S. Senators Lindsey Graham and Richard Blumenthal took part alongside leaders and delegates from 32 different states and organizations.
The expanded format reflects growing global unity in the face of ongoing Russian aggression. According to President Zelenskyy, the meeting included heads of states, government officials, and representatives from international institutions, all united in their commitment to Ukraine’s long-term security and immediate defense needs.
“This level of engagement is essential,” said Zelenskyy. “The Coalition of the Willing is not just a political framework — it is a working mechanism. It is actively protecting lives and laying the foundation for a secure future.”
The President emphasized the coalition’s critical role in building resilience against Russian strikes and maintaining international support for Ukraine’s sovereignty. The coalition, which has steadily grown since the early stages of the conflict, aims to coordinate military aid, intelligence sharing, and diplomatic pressure on Moscow.
Zelenskyy also highlighted the unity that has emerged among Ukraine’s allies, stating, “Everyone acknowledges that this is a war that can only be overcome through unity — and we have built the unity we need.”
In his message, he expressed deep gratitude to those standing with Ukraine, stressing that their support is not only vital for Ukraine’s defense but also for upholding international norms and defending democratic values.
As the war continues, the participation of the United States in this coalition signals a renewed commitment from the West to support Ukraine, not just through words, but through concrete, coordinated action.
