Zelenskyy Urges Stronger Global Pressure on Russia to Secure Lasting Peace
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has called for intensified international efforts to bring an end to the ongoing war, emphasising the need for united action among Ukraine, its allies, and all nations committed to peace.
Speaking after holding more than thirty discussions and consultations with global partners in recent days, Zelenskyy highlighted that while the perspectives of different countries may vary, the shared goal remains the same – ending the conflict and ensuring a just and lasting peace.
“The war must be stopped, and pressure must be applied on Russia to achieve it,” Zelenskyy said, warning that Moscow’s tactics could include attempts at deception during negotiations. He stressed that Ukraine’s own wartime experience, along with the insights of allied nations, should be used to prevent any such manipulations.
According to Zelenskyy, there is currently no indication that Russia is preparing to halt its military aggression. However, he expressed confidence that coordinated diplomatic, economic, and strategic measures could compel Moscow to end the war.
“Our joint actions – by Ukraine, the United States, Europe, and every nation seeking peace – can make Russia agree to peace,” he stated, extending his gratitude to all who are contributing to these efforts.
The Ukrainian leader’s remarks come amid ongoing international discussions on security assistance, sanctions, and post-war reconstruction, underscoring that unity among partners is essential for a durable resolution to the conflict.
