In a forceful show of political backing, U.S. President Donald Trump has publicly endorsed Don Huffines in his campaign for Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts, describing him as a loyal ally and a steadfast advocate of the “America First” agenda.

Trump praised Huffines as someone who has stood with him since the early days of the Make America Great Again movement. Framing the endorsement as both political and personal, Trump emphasized his strong electoral track record in Texas, highlighting his victories in the state during the 2016, 2020, and 2024 presidential elections. He characterized Texas as a cornerstone of his national support base and said Huffines represents the same brand of conservative leadership that resonates with voters there.

Huffines, a businessman and former state lawmaker, is campaigning on a platform rooted in economic expansion, tax reduction, deregulation, and domestic energy production. According to Trump, Huffines understands the policies necessary to stimulate economic growth, generate jobs, and promote manufacturing within the United States. The endorsement message underscored themes such as cutting taxes, reducing regulatory burdens, encouraging American-made production, and strengthening what Trump calls “American energy dominance.”

The role of Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts carries significant influence over the state’s fiscal management, revenue forecasting, and financial transparency. By endorsing Huffines for the position, Trump signaled that he views the office as strategically important in shaping economic policy at the state level.

Beyond fiscal matters, the endorsement also touched on broader conservative priorities. Trump asserted that Huffines would be a strong advocate for border security, law enforcement, veterans, and Second Amendment rights. These issues remain central to Trump’s political message and are expected to be key themes in Huffines’ campaign as well.

Calling his support “complete and total,” Trump expressed confidence that Huffines would not disappoint Texas voters if elected. The endorsement is likely to energize the Republican base in Texas and could play a significant role in the dynamics of the race.

As the campaign for Texas Comptroller unfolds, Trump’s backing places Huffines firmly within the national spotlight, aligning his candidacy closely with the MAGA movement and its broader political vision.
