Chinese Energy Companies Highlight Green and Digital Innovations at ADIPEC 2026
ABU DHABI, November 3: Chinese energy companies are presenting a new generation of green energy technologies, artificial intelligence applications and advanced oilfield solutions at the 42nd Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (ADIPEC 2026), highlighting China’s growing role in the global energy industry’s digital and low-carbon transformation.

The four-day international exhibition, held in the United Arab Emirates capital, has brought together approximately 2,260 exhibitors from more than 170 countries and regions. Organizers expect the event to attract over 239,000 visitors, making it an important platform for international energy cooperation, investment and technological exchange.
Under the theme “Where Global Energy Systems Are Strengthened,” this year’s exhibition focuses on energy security, supply chain resilience, digital transformation and the transition toward cleaner energy systems.
Chinese companies are using the event to demonstrate how technological innovation can improve energy production, reduce operational costs and support more sustainable development.
Major Chinese energy enterprises, including China National Petroleum Corporation, China National Offshore Oil Corporation, and China Petroleum and Chemical Corporation, are among the key participants.
Their exhibition displays cover a broad range of technologies, including renewable energy, carbon capture, deep-sea exploration, intelligent oilfields, industrial artificial intelligence and advanced engineering systems.
Chinese equipment manufacturers and oilfield service providers are also presenting integrated solutions designed to support international energy projects.
Companies such as Jereh, ZPEC and Kerui Petroleum are showcasing technologies related to natural gas development, digital oilfield management, electric fracturing and localized energy services.
The China Classification Society is highlighting its technical capabilities in shipping, offshore engineering and emerging energy technologies.
Energy Security and Supply Chain Resilience Take Centre Stage
Energy security has emerged as one of the major subjects at this year’s exhibition amid growing concerns about geopolitical tensions and disruptions to international transportation routes.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, UAE Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology and ADNOC CEO Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber emphasized that energy security must involve more than maintaining sufficient production capacity. Reliable transportation, efficient logistics and the ability to deliver supplies to their intended destinations are equally important.
He also highlighted the impact of disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz on global energy supply chains.
According to Al Jaber, nearly one billion barrels of crude oil have been withdrawn from global inventories since shipping through the strategic waterway was disrupted. He noted that shipping and logistics costs had increased substantially.
He called for stronger strategic reserves, alternative transportation routes, improved logistics infrastructure and wider adoption of artificial intelligence to anticipate potential risks.
These concerns have reinforced the importance of international collaboration in building more reliable and flexible energy networks.
Artificial Intelligence Reshapes the Energy Industry
Artificial intelligence is becoming an increasingly important component of modern energy operations.
From monitoring oilfield equipment to managing production systems and predicting operational problems, AI-powered technologies are creating opportunities for greater efficiency across the energy value chain.
At ADIPEC 2026, Chinese companies are demonstrating how digital platforms, intelligent equipment and advanced engineering can be combined to improve energy operations.
These developments reflect a broader shift in the industry from traditional equipment supply toward integrated technological services.
The growing use of AI is also attracting attention in the UAE. During the opening day, ADNOC announced a partnership with OpenAI and UAE-based technology group G42 to explore advanced AI applications in field development, well management and commercial operations.
The initiative highlights the increasing importance of cooperation between energy producers and technology companies.
Green Technologies Support the Energy Transition
Alongside digital innovation, low-carbon development remains a major focus for Chinese exhibitors.
Technologies related to carbon capture, renewable energy and more efficient industrial operations are receiving considerable attention as countries seek to balance growing energy demand with environmental objectives.
China’s participation demonstrates how established energy companies are expanding their technological capabilities beyond conventional oil and gas operations.
By combining engineering expertise, digital solutions and cleaner energy technologies, Chinese enterprises are seeking to strengthen their international competitiveness and develop new business opportunities.
International Cooperation Shapes the Future of Energy
Another important feature of ADIPEC 2026 is the growing demand for complete energy solutions rather than individual products or equipment.
Chinese companies are increasingly presenting integrated services that cover engineering, construction, digital management, equipment maintenance and the entire operational lifecycle of energy projects.
This approach could help international partners improve project efficiency while building stronger long-term business relationships.
As the global energy sector faces changing market conditions, technological challenges and increasing sustainability requirements, cooperation between countries and companies is becoming increasingly important.
ADIPEC 2026 provides an international platform for discussing these challenges and exploring practical solutions.
The strong presence of Chinese energy enterprises highlights their ambition to contribute to a more connected, technologically advanced and resilient global energy industry.
