Farmers to Explore Modern Farming Methods, Improved Breeds and New Technologies at 30 Exhibition Stalls
Boudh, November 3: Farmers, livestock rearers and fisheries entrepreneurs in Boudh district will get an opportunity to explore modern agricultural practices and emerging technologies at a two-day District-Level Fisheries and Livestock Fair scheduled to take place at Kacheri Ground on November 25 and 26.

Preparations for the district-level event gathered momentum on Tuesday as District Collector Bibhuti Bhushan Nayak chaired a review meeting with senior administrative officials and representatives of various departments. The meeting focused on ensuring proper coordination, infrastructure and necessary arrangements for the successful conduct of the programme.
Chief District Veterinary Officer Dr. Dilip Kumar Kabiraj welcomed the participants and outlined the objectives of the fair, along with the proposed activities and exhibition arrangements.
The fair will feature 30 stalls designed to highlight developments in fisheries, animal husbandry and allied sectors. Five stalls will be managed by the Animal Resources Department, while another five will represent the Fisheries Department. Ten stalls will showcase the activities of other government departments, and the remaining ten will feature live animals, birds and fisheries-related resources.
The exhibition is expected to familiarise visitors with improved livestock breeds, modern fish farming techniques, scientific animal rearing methods, government assistance programmes and technology-driven farming solutions.
According to the proposed participation plan, approximately 500 farmers and beneficiaries from different blocks of the district, along with 100 students, are expected to attend the fair each day. The event will also recognise progressive farmers who have demonstrated outstanding achievements in agriculture, horticulture, fisheries and animal husbandry.
Selected achievers will be honoured during the programme and invited to share their practical experiences, challenges and success stories. Their contributions are expected to encourage other farmers to adopt innovative approaches and develop sustainable livelihood opportunities.
Knowledge-sharing activities will form another important part of the two-day programme. Seminars and symposiums will be conducted with the involvement of subject specialists and scientists from different departments. Discussions will focus on scientific farming, improving agricultural and livestock productivity, increasing farmers’ earnings and generating employment through fisheries and allied activities.
Addressing the preparatory meeting, Collector Bibhuti Bhushan Nayak stressed the need for close cooperation among the departments concerned. He instructed officials to pay particular attention to stall management, farmers’ participation, student engagement, infrastructure and essential public facilities so that visitors could benefit fully from the event.
The review meeting was attended by Additional District Magistrate Aniruddha Pradhan, Chief Development Officer Prabhas Chandra Dandasena and Sub-Collector Binay Kumar Bhoi.
Other participants included District Culture Officer Ankita Sahu, Krishi Vigyan Kendra Senior Scientist Tapan Kumar Das, SDVO Dr. Tapan Kumar Dwivedi, ADH Shubhendu Kumar Biswas, ADVO Dr. Abhimanyu Rout, District Chief Fisheries Officer Lisa Behera, Fisheries Officer Chinmayee Behera, Lead District Manager Don Bosco and District Information and Public Relations Officer Bidyapati Panda. It will also serve as a platform for connecting farmers with scientific knowledge, government initiatives and practical solutions that can help improve rural incomes and promote economic self-reliance across Boudh district.
