KABUL, November 7, 2026 – A tragic road accident in northern Afghanistan’s Kunduz province has claimed three lives and left two other people injured, including a child, according to local police authorities.

The accident reportedly occurred on Friday evening, November 6. The victims were travelling when the vehicle met with an accident under circumstances attributed to the driver’s negligence.
Speaking to local media on Saturday, provincial police spokesperson Jumadin Khaksar confirmed that three people died at the scene. Two others survived but suffered injuries and required medical attention. One of the injured victims was identified as a child.
Authorities have not provided further details about the identities of those involved or the precise circumstances surrounding the incident.
The latest tragedy has once again drawn attention to road safety concerns in Afghanistan, where traffic accidents continue to cause fatalities and injuries.
In a separate incident earlier this week, another road accident in the eastern province of Kunar resulted in one death and seven injuries on Wednesday.
The two incidents highlight the serious consequences of unsafe driving and the importance of responsible behaviour on roads to protect passengers and other road users.
