The Health Department of Haryana has taken a firm step to curb political influence exerted on senior officials. In this regard, the department’s director has sent an official letter to all Chief Medical Officers (CMOs) in the districts, clearly stating that such activities violate Rule 26 of the Haryana Civil Services Rules, 2016.

The letter highlights that recently, several officials and employees have attempted to exert political pressure on senior authorities to promote their personal interests. Such actions not only undermine ethical standards but also weaken the commitment to public service. The director has warned all employees to adhere to these rules, stating that any officer or employee found violating them will face disciplinary action.

However, the exact reason behind this letter has not yet been clarified. Experts believe it is linked to the increasing political pressure being exerted by employees within the Health Department. Recently, a growing atmosphere of discontent has emerged due to incidents of political interference in activities under the health ministry.

The Health Minister of Haryana, Aarti Rao, who is the daughter of Union Minister Rao Inderjit Singh, may also become part of the investigation in this context. Previously, senior leaders like Dr. Kamal Gupta and Anil Vij have held the health ministry, facing numerous instances of political pressure during their tenures.

Through this letter, the department has once again conveyed that it will not tolerate any form of political influence and is committed to maintaining the quality of health services. All officials and employees must understand that fulfilling their duties should be the utmost priority to ensure that the public receives better healthcare services.
