Vaishali Court Awards Life Imprisonment in Rape Case, Convict Also Fined

Hajipur, June 20: In a significant judgment aimed at ensuring justice for victims of sexual crimes, a court in Hajipur, Bihar, has sentenced a man convicted in a rape case to life imprisonment. The court also imposed a monetary fine of ₹10,000 on the convict.
According to official information, the case was registered under Belsar OP in Vaishali district. The accused, a resident of the Rustampur police station area, was found guilty under various sections of the Indian Penal Code related to rape, wrongful restraint, assault, criminal intimidation, and wrongful confinement.
The case was registered as Belsar OP Case No. 492/23 under Sections 376, 341, 323, 506, and 342 of the IPC. Following a detailed investigation and subsequent trial, the prosecution presented evidence before the court, leading to the conviction of the accused.
After examining the facts and evidence placed on record, the Hon’ble Court at Hajipur pronounced its verdict, awarding life imprisonment to the convict. In addition to the prison sentence, the court directed the accused to pay a fine of ₹10,000. Officials stated that the judgment reflects the judiciary’s commitment to dealing firmly with serious crimes against women.
