French President Emmanuel Macron, during the recent G7 summit, expressed unwavering solidarity with Ukraine following a series of intense overnight missile attacks by Russian forces. Standing alongside Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, Macron condemned the strikes and emphasized the urgent need for peace.
In a public message, Macron declared that France and its G7 allies remain committed to supporting Ukraine in the face of aggression. He stated that Ukraine is prepared for an immediate and unconditional ceasefire, and called on Russia to halt its military operations without delay.
“We are determined to increase pressure on Russia until it agrees to a ceasefire,” Macron stated, reinforcing the G7’s united front.
The renewed strikes, which targeted multiple Ukrainian cities, have escalated global concerns over civilian casualties and infrastructure damage. Macron’s remarks come amid heightened diplomatic efforts to bring an end to the prolonged conflict.
France has consistently advocated for dialogue but maintains that any peace must respect Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. The G7 leaders, including Macron, are expected to announce further coordinated measures aimed at compelling Russia to return to negotiations and halt hostilities.
