Swift Response to Yamunotri Landslide: Uttarakhand Intensifies Relief Efforts

Following a devastating landslide on the Yamunotri Dham Yatra route in Uttarkashi district, Uttarakhand has launched rapid relief and rescue operations. The incident, which took place near Nau Kachi, around 3 km from Jankichatti, has prompted an all-agency emergency response.

Under the leadership of SDRF Commander Arpan Yaduvanshi, rescue teams are utilizing drone surveillance to monitor the affected terrain. These real-time aerial visuals are helping teams identify risk-prone areas and streamline on-ground rescue efforts.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami expressed grief over the incident and assured the public that all necessary support is being extended. Taking to social media, he confirmed that the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), along with the police, forest department, and medical teams, are fully engaged in rescue operations.

One injured person has been safely rescued and admitted to PHC Jankichatti for immediate treatment. The Chief Minister also offered prayers for the safety of all devotees and personnel in the area.

This prompt action, coupled with advanced monitoring tools, reflects the state’s commitment to ensuring safety during the ongoing pilgrimage. Relief work continues steadily, focusing on clearing debris and extending assistance to those affected by this tragic event.
