Paris, June 25 – French President Emmanuel Macron has once again voiced France’s unwavering backing for Ukraine, denouncing Russia’s persistent military aggression and refusal to engage in meaningful peace efforts. His remarks came during discussions with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy at the sidelines of the recent NATO Summit.

Macron expressed deep concern over Russia’s recent attacks, notably the strike on Dnipro, which caused devastation in civilian areas. He strongly criticized Moscow for rejecting international appeals for peace, despite Ukraine’s expressed willingness to accept a ceasefire over three months ago — a proposal initially brought forward by former U.S. President Donald Trump.

“Ukraine agreed to the ceasefire proposal, yet Russia continues to shell cities, take lives, and flout international norms,” Macron stated firmly. He condemned Russia’s repeated violations of humanitarian principles and stressed that such actions cannot go unpunished.

Reinforcing France’s diplomatic position, Macron emphasized the need for collective pressure on the Kremlin. “We will continue working with our allies to ensure a comprehensive and lasting peace in Ukraine,” he said, highlighting that peace must rest on legality, accountability, and full respect for Ukraine’s sovereignty.

President Macron’s statement signals a strengthened resolve among Western nations to counter Russian hostilities and pursue justice. His message reaffirms France’s strategic commitment to European security and upholding international law.
