Major Progress in Odisha Rail Expansion: Bhadrak–Nergundi Third Line Project Advances 🚆

A significant milestone has been achieved in the Bhadrak–Nergundi Third Line Critical Project in the eastern Indian state of Odisha. Out of the total 90 km rail expansion project, approximately 40.5 km of the new rail line has now been commissioned, strengthening the region’s railway infrastructure and improving connectivity.
The project, connecting Bhadrak and Nergundi, is designed to ease congestion on one of the key railway corridors in the state. By adding a third line, the upgrade will allow more trains to operate smoothly, improving both passenger and freight movement across the route.
One of the key advantages of the development is its potential to boost religious tourism. The improved rail connectivity will make travel easier for pilgrims visiting prominent spiritual destinations such as the Akhandalamani Temple and the revered Maa Bhadrakali Temple.
In addition to promoting tourism, the expanded rail capacity is expected to support regional economic growth, enhance mobility for local communities, and strengthen logistics across the state’s transport network.
The progress in the Bhadrak–Nergundi project reflects the broader push to modernize railway infrastructure and improve connectivity across eastern India.
