The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) is preparing to open its 70th General Conference, with delegates expected to gather in Vienna from Monday, 14 September.

The annual conference brings together representatives from IAEA member states to discuss issues connected with nuclear energy, peaceful nuclear applications, safety, security and international cooperation. The event provides an important platform for governments and nuclear-sector experts to exchange views on developments affecting the global nuclear landscape.

Participants will be able to attend the conference in person in Vienna, while virtual access will also be available for those following the proceedings remotely. The hybrid format is expected to allow a wider international audience to follow discussions and key developments throughout the meeting.
