Homeland Security Agent Faces Multiple Sex-Crime Charges in Alabama

Authorities identified the man as Kent Blacklidge, who was booked into the Baldwin County Jail after turning himself in on Saturday, September 5. Spanish Fort Police said the investigation resulted in several criminal charges, including first- and second-degree rape, first- and second-degree sodomy, multiple counts of sexual abuse and incest.
Police said Blacklidge was placed on administrative leave when the investigation began. The allegations are now moving through the criminal justice system, where the evidence and circumstances surrounding the case will be examined.
The case has attracted particular attention because of Blacklidge’s position as a federal law-enforcement officer. Spanish Fort Police Chief John Barber emphasized that the department’s responsibility is to investigate allegations and protect victims regardless of a person’s professional status.
