China’s Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) said its cooperation with SCO economies has expanded during 2026. The organization is working to connect businesses, improve commercial services and encourage greater industrial and supply-chain collaboration among participating countries.

Trade and Supply Chains Take Center Stage

According to the latest Chinese government information, SCO members took part in the fourth China International Supply Chain Expo in Beijing in June. Businesses from countries including Kazakhstan, Pakistan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan participated in the event, highlighting opportunities in areas such as manufacturing, financial services and clean energy.

China has also been sending business delegations to SCO member states and dialogue partners, while hosting commercial delegations from the region. The goal is to create more direct connections between companies and encourage new investment and trade opportunities.

Export Documentation Shows Growth

China’s trade-promotion system issued 669,500 certificates of origin for exports to SCO member states during the first seven months of 2026, representing a 9.62 percent increase from the same period last year.

The system also issued 561 ATA Carnets, international customs documents used for temporary imports and exports, marking a 45.71 percent year-on-year rise.

China-SCO Trade Reaches Major Scale

The Chinese government said trade between China and other SCO members reached approximately $523.5 billion in 2025, equivalent to about 8 percent of China’s total foreign trade.

The development comes as the SCO marks its 25th anniversary and as China continues to promote stronger economic connections among member states and dialogue partners.

Broader Regional Cooperation

The latest announcement is part of a wider series of China-related developments surrounding the SCO Summit in Bishkek. Chinese President Xi Jinping has also held talks with leaders from Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Uzbekistan and Mongolia, emphasizing closer economic and strategic cooperation.

For businesses across the region, China’s expanding trade-promotion efforts could create additional opportunities in manufacturing, logistics, energy, finance and cross-border commerce.
