NAMASTE Workshop Promotes Safe Sewer and Septic Tank Cleaning Practices in Uttar Pradesh
Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, July 2: A workshop dedicated to improving safety standards in sewer and septic tank cleaning was successfully organized on July 1, 2026, in Richha, Bareilly, under the National Action for Mechanized Sanitation Ecosystem (NAMASTE) scheme. The programme brought together sanitation stakeholders to reinforce safe working methods, reduce occupational risks, and encourage modern sanitation practices.
A total of 39 participants attended the training session, where experts highlighted the importance of replacing hazardous manual cleaning practices with safer, technology-driven alternatives. The workshop emphasized that sanitation workers should have access to proper safety equipment, skill development, and modern mechanized tools to perform their duties without risking their health or lives.
The training focused on creating greater awareness about occupational safety, responsible sanitation management, and the need to adopt sustainable practices in maintaining sewer and septic tank systems.
