The figures were announced by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry on  during its second quarterly meeting reviewing government performance for the year.

6,745 new commercial registrations

The ministry reported that 6,745 new commercial registrations were recorded during the second quarter.

That represented a 6.6 percent increase compared with the first quarter of 2026, indicating continued business-formation activity in Qatar.

The figures were presented during a meeting chaired by Minister of Commerce and Industry Sheikh Faisal bin Thani bin Faisal Al Thani, with senior officials also attending.

Digital services continue to expand

The ministry also highlighted developments involving its Single Window platform, which provides businesses with digital access to government-related commercial services.

Officials said the continued development of the platform forms part of Qatar’s wider efforts to modernize government services and advance digital transformation.

Improving digital procedures can help businesses complete administrative processes more efficiently while supporting the government’s goal of creating a more attractive environment for investment.

Manufacturing remains important to economic diversification

Qatar has been working to expand non-energy economic activity while maintaining the strength of its traditional energy sector.

Industrial investment is an important part of this strategy, supporting manufacturing, production capacity and private-sector development.

The latest investment figure of QAR 248.44 billion demonstrates the scale of capital already committed to the country’s industrial sector.

Focus on stronger business growth

The rise in new commercial registrations also suggests continued interest in establishing businesses in Qatar.

Government authorities are increasingly emphasizing streamlined procedures, digital services and investment-friendly policies as the country implements its broader development strategy.

These measures are designed to encourage private-sector participation and create new opportunities across manufacturing, trade and other economic activities.

Qatar strengthens its economic development agenda

The latest figures provide a snapshot of Qatar’s economic activity midway through 2026.

With industrial investment remaining substantial and new business registrations increasing from the previous quarter, the government is continuing to focus on diversification, digital transformation and private-sector growth.

The developments form part of Qatar’s longer-term economic strategy under Qatar National Vision 2030, which seeks to build a diversified and knowledge-based economy while maintaining sustainable growth.
