Chitrakoot, Uttar Pradesh: Two people, including a man and his wife, died following a road accident in Nadine Kurmiyan village after their motorcycle collided with a stationary bus.

According to the information available, the accident occurred when a two-wheeler bearing registration number UP 96 M 0692 crashed into the rear of a stationary bus bearing registration number UP 70 JT 1501.

The motorcycle was being ridden by Mukesh Kumar, around 45 years old, a resident of Aman village under Rajapur police station in Chitrakoot district. His wife, Girija Devi, approximately 42, was travelling with him on the motorcycle.

The impact proved fatal for Mukesh Kumar, who died at the spot following the collision.

Girija Devi sustained serious injuries in the accident and was immediately sent to the district hospital in Chitrakoot for treatment. However, approximately two hours after being admitted for treatment, she also succumbed to her injuries.

The deaths of the couple have brought grief to their family and the local community.

Police and local authorities took necessary action following the incident. Officials stated that there was no law-and-order situation in connection with the accident and that the situation remained peaceful.

Further necessary proceedings are being carried out in accordance with the applicable procedure.
