Austria’s AVL Moves Closer to Major Saudi Order for Sustainable Aviation Fuel Pilot Plant
Austrian engineering company AVL is moving closer to securing a major international project in Saudi Arabia involving the development of a pilot facility for electro Sustainable Aviation Fuels, commonly known as eSAF.
The Austrian Federal Chancellery said on September 2, 2026, that Saudi energy company ACWA intends to commission AVL to provide technical implementation for an eSAF pilot plant. The final decision on the contract is expected in the coming weeks.
