Flávio Bolsonaro Intensifies Criticism of Alexandre de Moraes After Private Jet Video Emerges
Brazilian presidential candidate Flávio Bolsonaro has intensified his public criticism of Supreme Federal Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes after a video emerged showing Moraes and his wife, lawyer Viviane Barci de Moraes, disembarking from a private aircraft linked to businessman and former Banco Master controller Daniel Vorcaro.

Flávio Bolsonaro addressed the issue in a social-media video, accusing Moraes of having played a central role in Brazil’s recent political conflicts and questioning his conduct. The comments come as Brazil enters the final phase of campaigning ahead of the October 4 presidential election. Brazil’s Superior Electoral Court (TSE) has officially scheduled the first round for October 4, with a possible second round on October 25.
Video Adds New Dimension to Moraes-Vorcaro Controversy
The video cited in recent reports shows Alexandre de Moraes and Viviane Barci de Moraes arriving at Rio de Janeiro’s Santos Dumont Airport on August 22, 2025, after travelling aboard a Legacy 650 aircraft.
Brazilian media reports identified the aircraft as being connected to companies associated with Daniel Vorcaro, whose Banco Master has become the subject of a major financial and political investigation.
The footage has renewed attention on the relationship between Moraes, his family and the former banker.
However, the existence of the flight does not by itself establish wrongdoing.
Law Firm Provides Explanation
The law firm belonging to Moraes’ wife has acknowledged that it used air-taxi services, including services operated by Prime Aviation.
According to a statement reported by CNN Brasil, the firm said that its use of aircraft was based on operational considerations and that Vorcaro was not present on the flights involving members of the firm. The office also said that Moraes accompanied his wife on some of those journeys.
Earlier statements from Moraes’ office had denied that the justice had travelled on aircraft belonging to companies connected with Vorcaro. The newly surfaced video has therefore become an important element in the ongoing public dispute over the issue.
Police Documents Under Examination
The controversy is connected to the broader Banco Master investigation.
Reports based on documents and messages examined by Brazilian Federal Police indicate contacts between Vorcaro and people connected to the Supreme Court. Investigators have also examined a large legal-services contract between Banco Master and the law firm of Moraes’ wife.
Folha reported that the contract was signed in January 2024 and involved substantial payments before Banco Master was liquidated. Moraes has denied irregularities and said he never adjudicated cases involving Vorcaro or Banco Master. His wife’s law firm has maintained that it provided the contracted legal services.
Flávio Bolsonaro Uses the Issue in Campaign
Following publication of the aircraft footage, Flávio Bolsonaro released a video attacking Moraes and linking the controversy to wider arguments about the Brazilian judiciary and political system.
His comments are part of an increasingly contentious election campaign. Flávio Bolsonaro is one of the candidates officially registered for the 2026 presidential election, according to the TSE. The electoral authority has registered 12 presidential candidacies for the contest.
The senator’s latest statements have therefore placed the Moraes-Vorcaro controversy back at the centre of his campaign messaging.
Supreme Court Dispute Adds to Political Tension
The controversy has also contributed to an unusually public dispute within Brazil’s Supreme Court.
Earlier this month, the court postponed consideration of whether an investigation into Moraes should be opened over alleged connections to the Banco Master case. The proceedings have generated sharp disagreements among justices, including a public confrontation between Moraes and Justice André Mendonça.
Moraes has rejected allegations of misconduct and characterized the accusations against him as politically motivated. The allegations remain part of an ongoing institutional and legal dispute rather than established findings of wrongdoing.
Election Campaign Enters Final Weeks
The controversy is unfolding less than two weeks before Brazil’s first-round presidential vote.
The TSE has set October 4 as the first round and October 25 for a possible second round. Voters will also elect governors, senators and members of the federal and state legislatures.
With the election approaching, developments involving the Supreme Court, Banco Master investigation and major political candidates are receiving increased attention across Brazil.
For now, the central questions surrounding the aircraft trips, financial relationships and alleged contacts remain subjects of investigation, competing political claims and judicial proceedings. Any final determination regarding potential wrongdoing will depend on the relevant evidence and decisions by Brazilian authorities and courts.
