Seven-Year-Old Boy Injured During Police Stop-and-Search Operation in Nigeria
A seven-year-old boy was injured during a police stop-and-search operation in Uyo, the capital of Nigeria’s Akwa Ibom State, prompting authorities to detain an officer and launch an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The police command subsequently detained an officer identified as Monday Okonta as investigators began examining how the firearm was discharged and whether established procedures were followed during the stop.
