Two Charged in Toronto Murder as Third Suspect Remains Wanted
Toronto, Canada: Toronto police have arrested two people and launched a nationwide search for a third suspect in connection with the killing of a 32-year-old man whose body was discovered inside a burning vehicle.

Emergency crews were called to a field near Steeles Avenue East and Reesor Road late on September 21 after reports that a vehicle was on fire. Once the flames were brought under control, responders discovered a deceased man inside the vehicle. Police later identified him as Marcus Charles, 32.
Two People Face Criminal Charges
Following an extensive homicide investigation, detectives identified three people they believe were involved in Charles’ death.
Rushon Powell, 25, of Toronto, has been charged with first-degree murder. Shakurwa Jeffrey, also 25 and from Toronto, has been charged with accessory after the fact to murder, according to Toronto Police Service.
Both accused were scheduled to appear before the Toronto Regional Bail Centre following their arrests.
The allegations have not been proven in court, and the accused remain entitled to due process under Canadian law.
Third Suspect Sought Across Canada
Police are continuing their search for Devondre Hall, 25, of Toronto, who is wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for first-degree murder.
Authorities have released Hall’s image and are appealing to anyone who may have information about his whereabouts or the circumstances surrounding Charles’ death. Police have warned that members of the public should provide information to investigators rather than attempt to confront a wanted suspect.
Second Burning Vehicle Investigated
The homicide investigation gained additional attention because another body was discovered inside a burning vehicle on the opposite side of Toronto less than two hours later.
Police found 30-year-old Mohamud Kheyre inside a vehicle at James Garden Park in Etobicoke after responding to another vehicle fire shortly after midnight. Investigators later determined that both Charles and Kheyre had suffered fatal gunshot wounds before their vehicles were set ablaze.
Police have not publicly confirmed that the two killings are connected.
Investigation Remains Active
Investigators continue to examine evidence surrounding Charles’ death, including the circumstances leading up to the vehicle fire and the movements of the people believed to have been involved.
The case demonstrates the complexity of homicide investigations in which attempts may have been made to conceal evidence by setting a vehicle on fire.
Toronto police are asking anyone with information to contact investigators or provide an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers.
As the investigation continues, authorities are focused on locating the outstanding suspect and determining the full circumstances surrounding the fatal incident.
