The young man went to an emergency medical facility in Bærum on Monday evening with stab wounds. He was later transferred to Ullevål Hospital for further treatment. Police have described his condition as serious but stable, although the full extent of his injuries has not been publicly established.
Investigators believe the incident followed a confrontation between the victim and another man in the area of Elias Smiths vei. Police received reports of a violent incident at approximately 9:25 p.m. and quickly deployed officers to search for the suspected attacker.
The suspected attacker had not been arrested when police provided their latest update. Officers have been collecting surveillance footage, interviewing witnesses and examining the location where the confrontation is believed to have occurred.
